Finally got what I deserved (well the good stuff anyways)

I am pretty happy today. I was supposed to get a raise 6 months after being a full time box office employee. Well being the absent minded person that I can be, I had no idea when that 6 month date was. After harrassing my boss (and I mean harrassing, oopsie) he found out a date but it was way off. I had an approximate date in my head and this was 2 months away from that date. So I was freaked out, but today everything was solved. My health plan will kick in right away and I will be getting a raise. I guess my date was 2 weeks ago so I'll be getting retro pay too! Ah that lifts some of the weight off of my shoulders. I was stressed about A- Elvis' fundraiser (read below) and B- I have to start paying back my student loans soon (and I mean really soon).

So in conclusion, I'm happy cause my financial stuff is starting to sort itself out a little bit. And if you know me you know that student loan stuff/money stuff is usually really complicated and stressful (and it's not always my fault either). So happy day!

Thanks!!

Well wasn't that a fun time. I would just like to say "Thanks!!" to everyone that joined my birthday celebrations. I had a riot. Turning 26 really isn't that bad (so far). I'm glad that you guys could make it and it wouldn't have been the same without you.

Well it's not going to be completely as planned...

Hey Folks! It turns out that the Men in Kilts got moved to another location for Saturday. Boo! Oh well! We're still going to go to Shannon's Irish Pub. If it isn't as much fun as we hoped then we can just go somewhere else. Hope to still see you there. Make sure you call if it's later to make sure that we are where you think we are. Bye bye.

Weee! We got a Wii!

Hey Guys! Quite the weekend I must say. Celebrated a friends bday (got a little too drunk, sorry all), Participated in the Grey Cup/Santa Claus Parade, Staff Outing to Academy Lanes and got a Nintendo Wii.

Well the parade really was a blast but for some unknown reason they wanted us there super early. The parade didnt even start until 4 and we were there at 1:30pm. Our float (IMAX) was somewhere in the middle so we didnt even move until closer to 4:30-5ish. It wasnt super cold out but it was cold enough waiting around for everything to get started. There was about 1.5hrs to kill before going to our staff night at Academy Lanes.

Me and Matt arrived first (like I knew we would). But everyone else was a little later than I thought they would be so I started getting paranoid that no one was going to show up. I ordered a lot of food so I was worried that it would go to waste. But everyone showed up fashionably late so it was good. We were doing the 5 pin bowling thing and I'm still undecided about which style of bowling is actually easier. All I know is that I totally sucked at first and then I was schooling people by the end.

On Sunday we woke up nice and early and Matt made a pancake breakfast. Then we went to Toys R Us to pick up our
Wii. Good thing we preordered it or we would have never gotten one. The doors opened at 12 and we were there at 12:05 and ended up waiting in line for about 1.5 hrs. Most of the games were already sold out. They didnt even have any extra controllers left. Oh well. But we played it for pretty much all of yesterday and damn is it ever fun. My arm is actually a little sore today. Once we get some more controllers, we'll have to have some sort of nerd party so we can drink pop, eat chips, and play some Nintendo.

Elvis has left the building...

And by building I mean the vet. Yes being a vet must be the way to go cause they make tons of money. By now everyone must know about the GIGANTIC bill that we got from the vet. Elvis was there for a couple of days and it ended up costing almost as much as I make in 2 paychecks. EEK! You are also probably thinking " What can I do to help?". Well it is as easy as watching a movie. "What?". Yup that's right. We are doing a fundraiser at the IMAX theatre. We are selling tickets for a private screening of Santa vs the Snowman 3D. The tickets are $10 each and the proceeds go to the ENORMOUS vet bill. Wait! It gets better. The IMAX theatre offers free parking in the portage place parkage. AND there will be a door prize worth $100.Oh yeah the show is on Wednesday, December 6th. Doors open at 6:30, show at 7. So please buy a ticket for yourself and a friend. Give me a call if you need anymore info.

Happy Ryan's Party

I would just like to wish an early Happy Birthday to my friend Ryan. His birthday is actually on the same day as mine but he decided to trick us all by having his festivities a little early. This way he can have 2 weekends of bday fun! If anyone would like to join in on the fun, we'll be at TYC later tonight. (I have to put the initials cause that's a hard bar to spell). See ya later!

Wow quite the weekend

Hello all! This weekend was pretty unusual. I decided to go to the level 2 kickboxing class on saturday with my partner. We ended up being split up and paired up with the level 2's and I got paired up with one of the female instructors. Well she weighed about 100lbs and "kicks like a mule". So needless to say that is the closest to being beaten up that I've ever been.

Other than that, we had to take Elvis (my sister's cat) to the vet on saturday too. He has an infection but he'll be better in a couple of days. I was really worried because the vet was really dramatic and told us (me and Tammy's roomie) that we might have to make some "decisions". So I thought he was done for but nope he just needs some R&R. Tammy was out of town until yesterday so I had a lot of stuff to explain to her when she got back. Yikes.

Oh yeah and on top of that me and Matt cleaned out "my room" and I got most of it painted. But I still need to move everything back so our bedroom is kinda unusable for the moment. Ta!

Bday Festivities

Hey folks! As you may or may not know, my bday is coming up pretty soon (the 23rd). I will be turning that ripe old age of 26 (yeah I know pretty scary hunh!?!). So I was thinking of waiting until the Saturday (25th) to do the party thing. Carly will be down that weekend so it should be a pretty good time. I was thinking of doing dinner (somewhere downtown) and then going to Shannon's Irish Pub to see the Men in Kilts (Beck's band). Let me know what you guys think and if you are down for dinner (and some drinks of course!).
