Attempting to Garden

Hey folks! So Me and Matt decided that since our front yard looks so terrible (see pipe story below) that we would focus on the back yard. Well we've got some seeds started in the house and got some patio stones (4 trips in the car) and we are preparing ourselves to build one heck of a seating area. We're pretty anxious to get this thing going (also perhaps because I volunteered our yard for Tammy's bday bbq on May 12th at 2pm, whoo hooo!). So fingers crossed, May 12th isn't that far away.

Well I left for work this morning a little happier than I have lately. And that is because some burly construction guys are at my house fixing the water pipe. Whoo hoo! So I should have running water by the time I get off work. I am also happy to say that I will be getting a decent amount of money back for income tax but I am facing a very big dilemma. Should I pay off a loan or get a new tv? Ah that will take some thought. I am also pretty stoaked cause I am going to watch the Men in Kilts at the Kings Head tonight. Who's with me?

News

First off, I had an awesome time at the Pyramid last night. Good fun. Thats the good news.

The bad news was what Matt told me when I got home. It turns out that the city shut our water off because the pipes are leaking. And because it is on our property, we have to deal with it. We have to hire a contractor and get them to figure out whats going on. We also have to pay for it. It is friday today and the earliest we can get our water back on is tuesday. They have to dig up the sidewalk and the boulevard (hopefully not the yard). If we have lead pipes, they have to replace them. If we have copper pipes, then they can fix them.

I dont know what we're going to do because the insurance doesn't cover it so we cant go stay in a hotel (boo) and both of our families live out of town. And now my dream of owning a flat panel tv are fading fast.

Update: Matt's family came on Sunday to help us get a head start on the renovations. We had to take apart our fence and move the bricks for our side walk. We should find out Monday or Tuesday when and what kind of work is going to happen.

Update: It has been a week since our water got shut off and we haven't gotten it hooked back up yet. It turns out that we have lead pipes so they have to replace the whole thing. If our contractor ever shows up then we may have water sometime soon.

Happy Easter Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Me and Matt went to Mordon to hang out with his family. We brought the Wii along and everyone seemed to enjoy it. (his sister is going to buy one now)Matt taught his niece to say buddy and for the rest of the weekend she said buddy everything (like baby buddy). He also taught her a secret handshake. Now she can be a little gangstar. We also got the traditional Easter underwear from his mom. Which I still find very funny. All in all it was a very good time.

My Prank for the Year

So my coworker Chad and I share an office space so I decided that I should do something to his work space for April Fools day. I decided to glue googly eyes on a lot of his stuff. I also left him a note that says "Here's lookin' at you kid"which will be the first thing he sees. I hid all of the stuff so that he will gradually find it all over time. I know it's kinda lame but I think it's funny and he wont be mad and feel the need to retaliate. I also kinda made it so that he would think it is someone else anyways. They are like a little army of office equipment. Cute.
