Quite the week

Hello folks! Well this week was definitely interesting. Well Wednesday was my last day at IMAX. It feels very strange to leave a job that you like but circumstances happen and there's no turning back now. Monday is my first day., and no I'm not working retail, I'm going to be working in their design headquarters (Just thought I'd clear that up).

I had a long weekend from Thursday to Sunday which is long enough for my tastes. We went out for my Birthday on Friday and I got so spoiled (thanks everyone!). Lisa even turned up to surprise me, yay!

We went out for dinner at Luxsole which was very tasty but kinda expensive and the service was pretty slow. Then we had a couple of drinks at my house and then off to the King's Head. Well I have to say that I was blown away by the turn out. This is the only year where I didn't plan out every little detail (I let Ryan do that). So I had no expectations and I was very pleasantly surprised. It could be that it was also my IMAX going away party at the same time so that could have helped a bit. After the bar I went to Marsha's house where we played an unbelievable amount of Singstar and boy do I suck at singing.

I wasn't as hungover as I thought I'd be in the morning (some nasty people bought me too many shots) but as the day went on (around supper time) that's when it hit me and I spent the rest of the day snoozing on the couch and trying not to hurl. I'm feeling a bit groggy today but I'm sure once I get ready for the day, I'll be fine.

well I got the job

So did my reference checks on monday and according to Chad and Darryl, they said wonderful things about me. So I got a phone call on tuesday saying I got the job. I was a little disappointed that that they weren't offering me that much more money that I was making at IMAX. Plus there was that long commute to think about. After one hell of a long day of thinking it over, I decided to take the job. Imax is still going to be going through restructuring in January so there's no guarantee that I would have a job for long if I stayed. I decided that the risk maybe worthwhile even if there is a big sacrifice to take it (my sleep). So my last day of work is Nov 21st and my first day of work at is Nov 26th. So it turns out that I'll have my birthday off. Maybe I should plan something.

Another step of the job hunt

Hello ladies and gentlemen! Well the last time I was discussing job stuff was because of downsizing. Well that motivated me to put my resume on monster.ca and I applied for all kinds of crappy jobs. Well someone found my resume and emailed me. It was a nice lady from. Well that email led to an interview and that interview led to a working interview that I had yesterday. This is where our story begins...

This girl can do anything

Well here's another log entry by your local handywoman extraordinare. Well I have lots of home improvement ideas no doubt from my years of watching home improvement shows. Well I had an idea to re-do our clothes closet. It just was a big mess and I thought we could do better. Well I found a cool adjustable closet from Rubbermaid. Well Matt agreed to buy everything if I did the work, so I was game. I took off the closet doors, took out the large wooden shelf with its heavily nailed support pieces (making a sizable hole in the wall in the process). I spackled till the cows came home, blow-dryed it until it was ready, sanded, primed and painted the space. Once that was done Matt helped me put the closet up.
Well when they say it is fully adjustible they are lying just a little bit. Besides that it turned out pretty awesomely. I never thought that I would be able to do this kind of handywork on my own.

Now I have room to go out and buy more clothes. What a good idea!
