In Limbo

So I'm still on exile from my apartment and taking refuge at Matt's house. I feel bad cause I work all the time and dont really get to see him much. I was worried that it would be super awkward staying with him but it hasnt been too bad (well at least for me, I'm not sure how he's feeling about the whole situation). I still have another week until my place is going to be inspected to see if there are still bugs in the building. If there are, they have to re-spray and I'll have to wait another 2 weeks. If its good then I can start cleaning up the poison and unpacking my belongings. Fingers crossed that everything is fine so I can actually live in the place I am paying rent for.

Under Quarantine

So there's a problem with my apartment, well with my building actually. So it turns out that the girl above me has bed bugs. Eek. So because of that I have to wash, dry and pack all of my belongings in plastic. Remeber I just moved in and unpacked everything. I also have to evacuate Layla.

There are exterminators coming tuesday to spray down everything. I'm allowed back in my place 4hrs after they are done spraying but there is a catch, I cant unpack my stuff for two weeks. If it turns out there is still bugs around they will have to spray again. I am supposed to pick all of the belongings that I will need in this two week time period and put them in an easily accessible bag, where if I need an item I can remove it, then put it back in the bag right away. So when I get home from work I'm supposed to unwrap some dishes and cooking tools (not to mention my food) and then prepare it and then wash it and then pack it back up again. Same goes for toiletries, bedding, clothing etc. Not to mention that my place will be covered in harmful chemicals that I will have to clean off of every surface.

So instead of living out of a garbage bag, I'm temporarily moving back in with Matt. The funny thing is that he is in Calgary this weekend. So by the time he gets back me and Layla will have moved in.

And if you want to hear the really gross thing about bed bugs is that they like living in your mattresses because they can easily feed off of you while you sleep (they are blood suckers) giving you huge welts and then they squirt your blood back out onto your stuff and it will contain their eggs.

I hope this is a good time to mention that I'm 99% sure that I dont have bed bugs which makes this process the more annoying.
