Songs I love right now

Here are some songs that I love right now:

Archeologists- by Wintersleep

I can't stay- by The Killers

Sex on fire- By Kings of Leon

Young Love- By the Mystery Jets

Tattoo: Round Two

Well I went for my second sitting for my peacock feather tattoo. Well I was under the impression that I would be in and out within a couple of hours. Well I was there for almost four. And as intensely painful as it was (I was trying to curl up into the fetal position by the end), I do not regret it for a minute. My tattoo looks a million times better (which is funny cause I liked it the way it was). Through this whole process I learned that my pale skin is extra sensitive. My skin got irritated and red right away and then started getting swollen. So picture having needles dragged across swollen irritated skin for hours and that was my wednesday night. Nice huh? So that is why tonight I'm taking a personal day to have a little R&R.

My weekend update

So this week actually went by super fast. I dont know if it was just because I had a lot of stuff to do at work, that it just sailed right to Friday. Oh well I'm not complaining. Well on Friday, a bunch of us went to see The Dark Knight at IMAX (yes its back again) and damn that movie is amazing. If you haven't watched it in IMAX go now and see it, you will not regret it.

On Saturday I took myself out on a date to Polo and treated myself to some new bras and undies (super colourful ones, yeah) and some chocolate. Yep, I'm a good date. On Saturday evening, we went to Michelle and Travis' place for Travis' bday and it was pretty fun. We had some drinks, food and played some rock band.

Today is sunday and i'm not hung over so I've got the whole day ahead of me. I'm feeling pretty lazy though so I think I might hibernate for most of today with the exception of grocery shopping. Most likely I will probably end up watching a few episodes of Dexter and maybe finish knitting the orange and white scarf I've been working on for a while. Here's to lazy days!!

Update: I ended up doing some little crafty projects around my place such as putting up my fairy pictures and decorating my cast iron tree.

Another weekend update

So I guess I could wait until my weekend is drawing to a close before I write this but oh well. So my goal for this weekend was to have a normal drama free weekend. Well Friday was successful. Although I was exhausted from having a long week, I still managed to go over to Michelle and Travis' house for some board games. It was a pretty fun time. Fun and not dramatic or stressful in any way. So Friday was a good day.

Saturday. Well I decided to go to Polo today cause I needed to get a case for my Nintendo DS that I got for christmas. Ryan called me up right before I was ready to go and decided to come with me. Well going to Polo Park Mall was fine (busy, but fine) but I didnt find what I wanted so we went to Futureshop/best buy. Well that's when things turned weird. We had gotten an amazing parking spot right outside Best buy. When we were about to cross the street, Ryan noticed that a certain one of my ex boyfriends was running down the sidewalk. It was definitely him and I've definitely never seen him run before. This just may be my paranoia talking but I'm pretty sure he saw us and decided to run for it to Futureshop. Well that definitely made me curious because its winter and I've never seen him run before. Ever.

So we went into Best buy a little bewildered and I knew right away that they didnt have what I wanted to we went to Futureshop. Well on the way there we ended up walking around the parked cars at Michaels instead of walking on the sidewalk. I'm glad we did cause there he was walking calmly back from Futureshop in the direction he originally came from. Well I just didn't know how to react so I looked at Ryan while Ryan pretended to look at his phone while keeping an eye on the situation. We'll it turns out that this certain ex was looking at us the whole time. I wonder why?

Now I might be new at this whole accidentally running into the ex thing. But I would have rather seen him right away, given a red faced "hi!" and then gone on my way. I was so taken aback by the whole running thing that I dont know if I should have said hi if he was that keen to flee the scene. Maybe he had another reason for running in public but I couldn't think of anything reasonable. I would hope that we could be grown ups and acknowledge each other's presence in public but it might be too soon for that.

Hopefully the rest of my Saturday evening and my sunday are relatively normal. A girl can hope.

Saturday Night- Well I waited for Tammy to get off work and head over to my place. When she got here we had a couple of drinks, put on our jammies and went to Marsha's for her bday bash. It was a pretty short visit but it was a lot of fun. We played this game called "What?" and it was pretty funny.

Sunday- Well I definitely slept in this morning. So I guess to make up for that, I've been super productive. I've pretty much cleaned my entire apt. I did the dishes, the laundry, took out the garbage and recycling and just did all kinds of tidying. So now all I have to do is grocery shop and I'm ahead of the game.

weekend update

So this weekend has been fairly mellow which has been nice. On Friday night I just hung out with myself at my place watching a Dexter marathon on my laptop. That show is amazing by the way and super weird which I like.

On Saturday I got up early and did my version of working out. I finally used my eliptical and then I practiced some of my old kickboxing moves in front of my mirror. Wow I am so fierce. Then I went out for sushi with Taryn to Wasabi. That place is beautiful and I'm sure anyone who has gone there would see what I would like about it. Oh yeah and the food is good too.

After a good nap, Michelle and Travis came to pick me up and we went to Tynes to decorate for her birthday. It was a pretty interesting night and I would have to say that I had a pretty good time. Not to mention that there was a cute boy there for flirting so I enjoyed myself.

Today is sunday and I'm tired because I didnt get home until 5am and I woke up at 11am so definitely not enough sleep. So I figure today I might watch some more Dexter (maybe in the tub, ha ha) and read my book (I'm re-reading the Twilight series and it is still good the second time around). So yeah I think I'm in for a nice lazy day.

A late christmas in Fort Frances

Well I just got back yesterday from Fort Frances (the town I grew up in and where my mom and her bf Frank live). Well I'd have to say that we all really over did it when it came to christmas. We usually have a short session of present openings but this time it was so long that the gang had to take a smoke break. Wow. Well it was a really nice trip (thanks Scott for driving!!). Pretty much we all relaxed, drank, played games and just generally had a good time. It was kind of like camping except indoors. The weekend went by so fast, I'll be back to work tomorrow. But we are already planning our next trip to Fort for the summer. The summer trips are much better because you arent so worried about dying on the highway or else just freezing in general. In the summer you can lounge around in my parents yard which has the most amazingly soft grass. They have two ponds, tons of flowers, a fire pit and of course lots of sun. Ah I already can't wait to be back.

New Years Resolutions

Well it wouldn't be a new year without making some new years resolutions. And here are some that I've come up with.

I am going to be more responsible with my money and try to actual save some of it for once (after my credit card is payed off). I am going to make myself a budget and actually stick to it. I think if I make myself a goal to save up towards then that would be motivating (such as a trip to Las Vegas perhaps).

I am going to try to be healthier-ie trying to make more healthier meals more often and trying not to eat so much fast food. Also trying to get in more exercise. And by more I mean some cause I dont do a lot right now. Especially since it is so cold out. This isnt motivated by image, which is very important. If I alter my image it is just going to be a side effect of being healthier which is ok. I firmly believe that you should be happy no matter your size. We are all our own worst critics and I think it is time that we stop being so hard on ourselves. At work I see a lot of people that are just trying to hide in clothes rather than use them to display their personal style. I dont see the body "problems" that they see. So if no one else knows/notices your "flaws" then why should you worry about them so much. "How to look good naked" is a great show to watch to feel good about the body you've got.

I am going to try to be more positive. This one really isnt new years specific. It is something that I've been trying to do for a while. I'm trying to focus on the good and let the bad go. It is very enlightning. I think what people dont realize is that attitudes are contagious. I would rather there be more happy people walking around so by being happy first you may just brighten someones day which feels pretty good.

So that's all I've got so far. I know they aren't super original or anything but they are definitely good things to strive for.

Happy New Year!!!

xmas

Well I'm going to start off by saying that I've been having a nice (but busy) holiday season. On xmas eve I spent time with Tammy and her boyfriend Scott. We drank and played game and had appetizers (thanks to Tammy's cooking skills). It was a lot of fun. I stayed over there and on xmas morning we hung out and watched garfields xmas special (which is awesome). I ended going to my buddy Ryan's place for xmas dinner and wow was it amazing. The food was so good and everyone was so nice. His parents made me a pair of moccasins which is an amazing present. It was a really nice day.

NYE

So new years eve turned out to be a gong show as usual. I was having a preparty at my place and everyone was fashionably late as usual. There was a pretty good turn out and everyone was having a great time. I felt bad having to kick people out so that we could go to the bar. Well the bar was definitely not as busy as I was hoping and by then I was pretty drunk (thanks to Ryans amazing jello shots). I ended up picking up this super cute boy (who was a little on the young side). So even though we kept it PG i think I've just made the rank of Cougar. Oh well it was bound to happen eventually. Today I've just been tidying up
my place cause tomorrow I have to pack because we're going to Fort!!! Weee!!! I'm so pumped.
