Another weekend update (i'm going to have to start coming up with some more creative names for these things)
Hey y'all! So this week has been pretty long mainly due to the fact that I've been sick all week. I'm still sick but I'm dealing with it. As usual I worked a lot during the weekdays. I spent my Wednesday evening with Tammy and talked her into getting a super cute asymmetrical hairstyle (I know, way out of her comfort zone). She actually liked it at first too but now she thinks she looks like a little kid because the long side isnt long enough. So apparently if you dont have super long hair then you look young. Oh well. The rest of my Wednesday evening was spent working on my posters for the IMAX walkway windows.
On Friday I was pretty pooped but as we all know, I'm a trooper and pulled through. We went to Shannon's Irish pub and watched Becks band play. It was pretty fun and we all got a little drunker than we should have. When I got home I wrote a drunken message on one of my dating site guys pages that included my phone number. Yup pretty drunk.
On Saturday, we all had to wake up super early to pick Laureen up from the airport. We were there for 9am and I'm quite impressed that we all made it and were decently functionable. We ended up wandering the mall a bit and then had lunch at the Olive Garden. After that, Tammy and Taryn came back to my place to plan their trip. Here is my version of their trip planning:

Yup they are so funny. So Tammy and Taryn are now tagging along with me and Ryan on our trip to Edmonton which is fine by me but oh so funny.
So in the midst of planning all this craziness, my phone rings with a unknown number and I answer it and it turns out that its the guy I left my number for on his dating page. Well of course my face turns instantly red and I try to do the best I can to make conversation with Tammy and Taryn looking at me. Well it ended up pretty good and we tentatively planned a date for next wednesday. Yeah me!
So later Tammy and Taryn left and I took a nap and woke up to people at my door. Well we drank a bit and then headed to a friend of a friends wedding social. It was pretty fun but we were all tired so we went home. By the time I got home I was a little wired from still being drunk so I drunk dialed my date guy (his name is Sean) and we ended up talking for an hour. It was good conversation about all kinds of things but it wasnt awkward at all. So I have high hopes for this one but I guess we'll see what happends next Wednesday.
Sunday- Well as usual I'm writing this blog entry and trying to ignore the complete mess that is my apartment. So today I absolutely have to get this place in working order, especially because I cant do it on wednesday. I also have to get my butt down to Portage Place and finally finish my posters and finish the walkway windows. No procrastinating allowed today so I'd better get at it.

Late weekend update
Hey guys! I'm sorry if some of you were dissapointed that I didnt have a new post on sunday. The truth: I totally forgot. Well this was one hell of a long week. For any of you that had to experience the -40 weather, I feel for you. Well on Friday I couldnt take it anymore and met a coworker for drinks right after work. Well we got pretty schmammered and ended up all over Portage place/city place buzzed to the nine. Well after all that wandering, we ended up at my place (for more drinks of course) and then headed to the toad (as usual). Well all I can say is that I drank from 5pm to 5am and that never usually ends well (and it didnt but you'll have to ask me cause I'm not typing it here. its actually more funny then bad but oh well). On sat morning I was still really drunk and im a bunch of you on facebook. Then I took a nap and when I woke up I was insanely hung over. me and Ryan drove around doing arrands (and looking at animals) and everytime I got out of the car I thought I was going to puke in the parking lot. I stayed in that night. On Sunday I got up and talked to my mom and Frank cause it was Franks bday. I also learned that my poor old cat Tigger passed away. I'm not super sad about it cause I know he had a good long life (he was 22). I also started working on the IMAX walkway windows. I spent the evening on a dating site cause Ryan got me hooked on it (I totally blame you) which is totally embarrasing and way geekier then I thought I was. Oh well, who knows maybe I'll meet some interesting people. Its monday and I woke up with a sore throat so I hope it goes away and doesnt turn into this weird throw up thing thats been going around. Exciting News!
This news is so exciting that it couldn't wait for my sunday post. I am going to see... The Killers!!! I know some people may laugh about that but I absolutely love them so just be happy for me, and Ryan. So the show is on monday april 27th in Edmonton, AB. We are going to drive (I think) and try to visit all of our folk in the Edmonton/Calgary area. I am so excited! More details later on.
On a separate (but still good) note, I also chatted with one of my old school friends from back in the day Mike Westom. It has been so long since I've talked to him. And it turns out that I am still the same wild child that I was back then (I'm not sure if that's good or not). And he is pretty much the same guy (except married and has children). Its funny reliving the glory days because the same stories seem to pop up. For those of you who remember when his little bro came to party at the house and he left puking drunk, with blue hair and half of his clothes missing. Oh yeah his dad is the sherrif of the neighbouring American town and this was his first drinking experience. Ah memories. Also Mike and the boys used to dress up in my clothes for fun (ha ha ha) and a picture of it ended up in his high school yearbook. Ha ha ha!! Aw talking to him made my day. I missed you Westom!
The Watchmen
So I'm going to start off by saying "bravo"! This movie was so well made. The story line, although a little complicated, was very intricate and detailed. The cinematography was excellent. The characters were well developed and very interesting. The fight scenes were spectacular. The movie was a little on the long side (3hrs) but they used every second to its fullest potential. I am going to go and re-watch it when it comes to IMAX (around May). All in all, it was one of the most amazing films I have ever seen.
A week of ups and downs
So the start to this week was pretty bad but so far the end has been good so I guess everything is balancing out.
Tuesday was a pretty bad day. For some unknown reason I usually have a good monday and a bad tuesday and this week was no exception. On tuesday I was super tired because my neighbour partied all night. My kitty has been sick (so much sneezing) so she's been super cuddly and has been sleeping on me lately (so cute). My neighbour's party was loud and woke Layla up and she was all frantic and all claws and ended up scratching me pretty bad in the face and neck. So not only was I super tired and looked like crap on tuesday, I was also covered in noticeable scratches. Nice.
Later on that day, I ended up getting scammed by some guy who ended up returning merchandise from the store for money. I was not impressed and quite pissed off cause I ended up losing the store money. I wont get into the details of the story cause it makes me angry.
Wednesday- I had a terrible morning. I bought a V8 and a bag of cookies from Shoppers. As soon as I got to work I dropped the V8 and it broke and spilled all over the floor. Very gross smell by the way. After I cleaned it up I figured I might as well break into the cookies and they were super stale. I ended up having to go back to exchange them.
Later that day I had an appointment to take my cat to the vet because of all the sneezing. Well Ryan helped me wrestle her into the kennel and gave me a ride to the vet and I dont think he expected to see Layla as pissed off as she was. As soon as Layla saw the vet, she locked eyes with her and hissed and growled the whole time. It turns out that she only has a cold and that its not a huge deal. So happy about that and they cut her nails so it was a good visit.
Friday- It was a long day at work but a really good one. I met Tammy at work and Taryn met us at my place. They worked on planning their trip to Mexico some more and then we went out for sushi. Mmmm. I ate way too much but it was sooo good! I thought everyone was going to go their seperate ways but we ended up drinking a bunch of beers and then going to the Toad. I was pretty buzzed up so I was chatting up everyone. I ended up seeing a guy I met while I was in rez and talked to him for a while. I think he was pretty bummed cause I ended up leaving with someone else. That someone else was my booty call guy that I just keep running into (not that I'm complaining). We ended up hanging out at one of his friend's place and then came back to my place and just hung out. It was really good. It ended up being a super late night though and we ended up sleeping until 2pm! I usually wake up crazy early and I slept until 2pm. I am so shocked by this, especially because I was still a bit drunk when I woke up. Yikes!
Saturday- I am such a bum, I cant believe that its already 4pm and all that I've accomplished today is that I managed to clean up a couple of beer bottles, I've showered, and I've eated a bowl of ice cream. I guess it hasnt been such a bad day after all. Ha ha ha! Later on I'm going to go watch the Watchmen and I'd have to say that I'm pretty pumped about it. I'll give a review on it later.
New Update- Sunday!
So I had a staff meeting early this morning and I think it went pretty well (they usually do). After that I came back to my place to do some laundry and then I watched "Spun", it was just alright. After that I chatted with Laureen, Ryan and Michelle. I'm not used to not being hungover on sunday so I had no idea what to do with myself so I decided to go hang out with Beck and Jen. Well the funny thing about that was that they were pretty hung over. We ordered in some Spicy noodle house and watched some "flight of the concords" and "pineapple express". It was a nice visit.

Wednesday-
Alright well this week has had its ups and downs. On wednesday I went to a fundraiser (at IMAX) for the Winnipeg Roller Derby League. I met some pretty cool chicks and I am thinking of going to a few practices to see if I could make the team. That's right folks, I want to be a roller derby girl. So if I can manage to stay up on roller skates then I will need some help thinking of a kick ass name.
Later that night I bussed to Taryns and hung out with her, Tammy and Scott. We ended up going to the Pyramid to see a few songs by "That one guy". He's pretty good. He plays some weird home made instrument. After that we went to Carlos and Murphys and pigged out on Mexican food. My stomach was not happy with that decision and I ended up having to call in sick the next day.
Thursday-
I was home sick. Yucky. Tammy called me freaking out because she ended up ordering a vaccation from one of those automated phone messages. She ended up coming over to use my computer to check out the trip she bought and it seems legit (I hope). Taryn ended up coming over to to check it out as well. What a bunch of yahoos.
Friday-
Back at work. Was feeling pretty drained. Ended up just chilling that evening playing Phantom hourglass on my ds for like 4hrs. Good night.
Saturday-
Gong show! I think that every saturday is a gong show. But I guess that's just the way we roll. Mike, Necunta, Marsha and Ryan came over and we drank our faces off. So the list of crazy drinking game rules has gone up a bit to include: Act like a t-rex, switch drinks with someone, switch clothes with someone, swear a lot, dont drink the little man, etc. We also ended up playing "never never have I ever" and spin the bottle. Yup we are a classy group of people. And so after that fun we stumbled over to the toad because we were to drunk to travel to the bar we were originally going to go to. It worked out pretty nice cause I ran into my bootie call guy and I took him back to my place. Nice.
Sunday-
Well me and my bootie call had a nice sleep in this morning, complete with snuggles and cuddling. It was nice. He left around noon so I decided to get up and be productive. So I'm doing some laundry and writing this post (which I do every sunday it seems). I have a bit of a headache and I'm a little stuffy but besides that I'm not too hung over. I guess this means that I'm getting used to drinking like a maniac again. I dont know if that's a good thing or not. Oh well.
