New tatt in the works

Well my day was kinda iffy earlier today. I kept dropping things and running into stuff. I hate being clumsy sometimes. But I turned my day around by going to book an apt to get my next tattoo. I needed the tattoo guy to draw me up a sketch so he traced my arm and asked me some questions about what I wanted.

I'm going to be getting a really colourful peacock feather on my left arm/shoulder. I think it will end up being quite large and detailed so I'm pretty pumped. I'm not pumped about the price though, the guy figured that this would take up to 5hrs or 2 sittings and would cost up to $500. Yikes!!! Oh well I'll just have to scrimp for the next couple of months. I decided to get a peacock feather because they are really pretty and colourful. It kinda has some funny symbolism such as:

-they are bad luck (the evil eye)
-it is a sign of good luck and beauty
-beauty, power and knowledge
-personal pride
-divinity, rank, power, and beauty
-wholeness, dignity, beauty, recognition, self assurance and pride
-glory, immortality, royalty, and incorruptibility
-protection, nobility, watchfulness, guiddance, and holiness

Yeah so there are a lot of meanings but the ones that I like are the dignity, beauty, self assurance and pride. I sometimes forget about myself and put people first and I want this as a reminder that I shouldn't forget who I am and how awesome I am and that I'm important too. I cant wait!
